SANDF Soldiers have just recovered more than R10 Million Rand worth of hijacked/stolen vehicles near the border.

During a routine roadblock with the members of the South African Police Service, SANDF Soldiers impounded a Toyota Fortuner upon routine inspection, the police found that the colour and the VIN number of the Toyota Fortuner do not correspond with the disc on the windshield. The value is estimated at R 530, 000.00 and was recovered at Tshamutumbu Police Station. 
At Masisi, the Masisi Police Commander requested SANDF soldiers for backup after he received a tip-off of a hijacking. While busy with the briefing at the Police Station, the wife of the hijacked man arrived informing SANDF members that her husband is safe at Tshenzelani Village but the vehicle was gone. The SA National Defence Force members were immediately dispatched to the position of the husband who took SANDF soldiers to the scene of the crime. SANDF soldiers urgently followed on the tracks which were leading towards the Limpopo River. The Ford Ranger was recovered at Gumbu 1 and was recovered back to Masisi SA Police Service for further processing. The estimated value of the vehicle is R 490 000.00. 
At Malalahoek Junction, during the Vehicle Control point, SANDF soldiers confiscated a Toyota Legend 50 2.8 GD6 whose driver fled the scene when stopped. The soldiers managed to apprehend the co-driver who was then handed over to the police in Musina. The Toyota Hilux Legend is estimated at R900, 000.00 and the vehicle was recovered by Musina SA Police Service.
