EMPD officers nabbed two fake Gauteng Traffic Officers following a high speed chase

EMPD STATEMENT

THEMBISA_Today at about 11h00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) officers, nabbed a Gauteng Traffic Officer and his co-perpetrator along Madiba drive in Thembisa. 
 
The duo were nabbed following a high speed chase which ensued as a result of reckless driving of a  white VW Polo sedan, affixed with false registration plates and fitted with blue lights and siren. 
 
It was discovered that a hijacked victim, was handcuffed, shot on the abdominal and kept pinned down against his will, in what seemed to be a police vehicle. The impersonators were immediately handcuffed, after the victim brought the dreadful encounter to the attention of the EMPD officers that he was hijacked, shot and kidnapped by the same bogus officers. 
 
The duo, in full Gauteng Traffic Police uniform are detained at the Thembisa police station, facing charges of hijacking, kidnapping, attempted murder, impersonating police officials and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition. 
 
The possibility of linkages to other cases are not ruled out.
