SANDF Soldiers intercepted a Toyota Fortuner which was about to cross from South Africa into Mozambique.

The currently deployed South African National Defence Force guardians of the South Africa/Mozambique Borderline, opened their “vehicles recovered successes account” for 2022. This latest success brings the Units’ to 17 recovered vehicles for their deployed period in the Mpumalanga Province since September 2021.

The South African National Defence Force soldiers armed with their “the buck stops here” attitude were conducting routine patrols between substations 7 and 8 on the borderline when they intercepted a 2017 silver colour Toyota Fortuner which was about to cross from South Africa into Mozambique. 
 
When the two suspect occupants spotted the patrolling South African National Defence Force soldiers, they stopped the vehicle and made a dash for the close by dense bushes, narrowly escaping with the vehicle keys. 
 
The vehicle was reported to have been stolen in the Springs area (Gauteng) and a case was opened at the Springs Police Station.
The vehicle is valued at R 720 000-00.
