TMPD K9 MEMBERS ARREST ONE PERSON WHO IS SUSPECTED TO BE PART OF A SYNDICATE WHO STEAL TOYOTA HILUX VEHICLES

On Saturday 22 January 2022  Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) K9  members arrested one suspect for possession of vehicle breaking equipment, fraud and bribery.

The officers spotted  a red Subaru driving behind a Toyota Hilux at Piering ave in Pretoria east. They tested the registration and the vehicle was  stopped for displaying false number plates.

The vehicle with one driver inside was searched , they found  variety of car breaking equipments inside. 

Upon further investigation, the officers discovered that the Toyota Hilux that the Subaru was following had been reported stolen in Fairie Glen earlier.

The suspect was arrested. He tried to bribe the officers, an additional charge of bribery was added.

This arrest is one of the  great success, as it was discovered that the red Subaru was  sought for several weeks for its involvement in the theft of a Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Hilux vehicles.

The TMPD officers suspect that they he is part of a  syndicate that steal and hijack Toyota Hilux Bakkies operating in the east and south part of Tshwane. 

The suspect will appear in court soon.
